Vejer de la Frontera
Vejer de la Frontera is located on a hill, at an altitude of 190 metres, from where it offers a view beyond compare. Its ground is bathed by the Barbate river and it is 54 kilometres away from Cadiz, the capital of the region. This small town of 12.000 inhabitants is not only regarded as one of most beautiful places of Spain but it also has an exceptional cultural heritage; in 1976, it was declared High Historical and Artistic Place. The human presence on its lands goes back to the antiquity. Relics of the Bronze age have been found under the town walls and recent investigations have revealed the existence of people of Eastern origin in the 7th century B.C. Nowadays Vejer, obviously under Arab influence, is made up of charming white, steep and sinuous lanes, flowery balconies and paved streets, old towers and town walls, palaces and convents... The city is all history... But you will also find there, of course, shops, hotels, restaurants, galleries, terraces and cafes. The beach of El Palmar, only a few kilometres, shows the magnificence of the Atlantic littoral and is almost virgin, construction being there prohibited. You will meet many people at Canos de la Meca where many young people come, attracted by its ideal waves, to practise surfing. The nature reserve of Pinar de Barbate is another of the many wonders of the nature in the region, with its pinewood which spreads to the beach, where you can go cycling or on hike. In Vejer, you will also have the possibility to go paragliding or canoeing. If it is actually in summer that the range of activities is the widest, there is always to do in this town: carnival, Holy Week, festivals of flamenco, exhibitions and concerts. All that, of course, in addition to many possibilities of trips offered by the region.
To study Spanish in Vejer de la Frontera will allow you to discover the history of the White Villages of Spain and to enjoy a place of an absolute beauty.

La Janda
The school building is constructed on top of the ancient Moorish town walls. It dates from the eleventh century and was built again in the middle of the nineteenth century. It is a real historical treasure-trove: a vestige of the medieval city walls and a watch tower, visible from the garden and one of the schoolyards. La Janda has two interior patios, a garden with orange trees, jasmine and bougainvillaea, a terrace facing south across rolling countryside and an area on the roof, with views in all directions, from Medina Sidonia to mountains in the north of Morocco. All these areas are available for the use of students. The classes taught by the school are reflected by professional accreditations given by the Cervantes institute (Ministry for Foreign Affairs), the university of Alcala (certification CEELE), the government of Andalusia and International House. At the end of each course, students may receive a certificate of attendance, or take an exam in order to receive a certificate with a grade. One-to-one classes are organized for students who wish to sit the DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language). Moreover, Janda, in collaboration with the CLIC school, allows you to share your stay between Vejer of Frontera and Seville.
