Located on the Main river banks, Frankfurt is one of the main economic and financial centres in Germany. At first sight, you get impressed by the height of these sky-scrapers and the city may convey a cold feeling, but if you allow yourself some time to discover it, Frankfurt reveals itself as an appealing city : walking in the old part of Römerberg, beautifully restored, or on the Main river banks, with its museums, entering the cider bars in Sachsenhausen, having a walk in the Fressgass ( the “food court”) or in the elegant Goethestrasse are very pleasant moments. However Frankfurt is also a city of history. On Johan Wolfgang Goethe’s native soil, many other famous men grew here such as Friedrich Hegel, Friedrich Hölderlin, Erich Fromm or Arthur Schopenhauer. Frakfurt shelters a large quantity of very interesting sights : the Römerberg, the old part of the city, where we can find the beautiful fountain of Justice, the townhall, the Römer, the unquestionable symbol of the city, Saint Paul church, the Hauptwache or the wards’ building, the old opera, Goethe’s native house and the museum dedicated to him, the Judengasse (the Jews’ street), the zoological garden, one of the oldest in the world, the botanical garden...You will find in Frankfurt a great variety of social and cultural activities which contribute to create a very lively, interesting and cosmopolite city. Since its creation in 1970, Deutsch Institute has specialized in the teaching of the German language and culture. It is today one of the most famous private language schools. One of the assets of DID’s general German course, which is available all year long, is that teaching will be given by two different teachers. Indeed DID considers it is really important for the student to get used to different ways of talking. The teaching by several teachers seems to be a very good way to guarantee the student a more varied contact with the German language.

The institute is located in Sachsenhausen, one of the most pleasant areas south of Frankfurt. A few minutes walk away you can find numerous shops, an indoor swimming-pool, cafés and restaurants. The tramway and the underground, whose stops are just a few minutes away from the institute, can drive you to the city centre in 5 minutes. For those who would come by car, the school has a free car park. The premises, located on a quiet ground floor, have been totally renovated and have a roomy architecture and modern equipments.

DID Frankfurt is a member of FIYTO (Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations), ALTO (Association of Language Travel Organisations) and EAQUALS (The European Association for Quality Language Services), of Fachverband Deutsch als Fremdsprache, FaDaF (German as a foreign language association) and is an accredited exam centre for the Test DAF (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache), which is the reference in German as a foreign language exams.
